Yes, in fact it does exist! Roller derby has been in Phoenix for 5+ years now for those that don’t know (yes somehow there are tons of people that don’t know). The current womens leagues are:
AZ Derby Dames
AZ Roller Derby
Desert Dolls Roller Derby
All very awesome and competitive leagues with tons of ladies ready to kick everyones asses =)
That being said, we aren’t here to talk about womens derby, we’re here to talk about Mens derby!
The Dry Heat Derby League which started in Tucson, AZ has spread its influence into Phoenix over the past couple years to get a 2nd mens team to compete with. Recently this endeavor has exploded and the local men’s team Phoenix Rattleskates has tripled in size in 1 month and doesn’t currently show signs of slowing down. The team led by Capt. Booyah and Cappie is gearing up for some serious derby action and always have an open door policy in regards to practicing. The Rattleskates encourage any and every man to skate in and give it shot, maybe even stick around!
